PRACTICE AREAS

THE HARDER YOU PRACTICE THE LUCKIER YOU GET

Ben Hogan knew the secret to golf. At Surbiton, you will find practice areas devoted to every part of your game, from warming up at the nets to testing the speed of the greens. Discover your hidden Hogan.

SHORT GAME PRACTICE AREA
Nestled between the 9th and 10th holes is our 100-metre long enhanced Short Game Practice Area. The SPGA officially opened in September 2021 with a permanent canopy covering the main pitching area, plus four short distance pitching mats to try out shots from different angles.

The undulating green with various flag positions enables golfers of all ages and capabilities to hone their skills. Three side bunkers of varying depth are strategically placed so that practice in the sand is easily at hand.

Peter Roberts, our Head Professional thinks,

"This is one of the best SGPA facility in SE England. The four PGA Pros here at Surbiton are delighted that we now have this excellent teaching facility to help our members reduce their handicaps by improving their short game shots.” Members who wish to practice their putting can use the putting green near the clubhouse.

The cost of this project was assisted by a grant from England Golf and a very generous Club Lotto donation from our members.

THE RANGE
A 300 yard, 13-bay Driving Range is the latest addition to the practice facilities at Surbiton Golf Club. The inclusion of four covered bays ensures players can warm up and perfect their game whatever the weather.

Premium range balls, offered at a significantly subsidised rate, are available to use exclusively by our members and their guests. The range perfectly complements our Short Game and Putting Practice Areas and is the ideal place for coaching by our Professional Team.
