Effective 1st January 2010, the English Golf Union and English Women's Golf Association are to launch, approved and supported by CONGU, a new Active / Inactive Handicap system. It is important that you are aware of this as you will need to return the necessary number of qualifying scores during 2009. Please see the attached document for full details.

The Captain's Committee have agreed that the Seniors Club Matches, the Bowman League and the Arthur Sturgeon Cup are the only competitions, events and matches that a player with an inactive handicap may compete in.

All other competitions, events & matches will require an active handicap and this will be applicable from January 2010. There are currently approximately 200 men & 12 lady members who would not have an active handicap. If you are among this number and require information on how to rectify this, please speak to either myself, Paul Milton, Kevin Haag or Chris Cornish.
